Small Business Owner (Cleaning)
What are you passionate about?
People take family for granted, just spending time with parents, siblings, just making the most of the time that they’re around. Before you know it they’ll no longer be.
What do you hope to achieve in 2016?
Hopefully better the business I’m in, build a house and hopefully help my parents move in, so they’ve got less strain as they’re getting older.
It’s just the way we’ve been bought up. After all the effort they’ve made in their life to see us get to where we are, there’s got to be a certain point in their life where they settle down and take it easy, and not have to worry about the next day. So we’re able to look after them and do or cater for what they want.
What is the greatest risk you’ve taken?
It was taking the business that I’ve got at the moment. Everyone actually spoke against it. Up to two years I was ready to throw the towel in, and shortly after things took a change and picked up. It’s going good now.
It’s a cleaning business, we do anything from bond cleans to builders cleans, getting new houses ready for hand over. Commercial cleans, and a few irregular and regular weekly cleans.
What’s something that has changed your life?
I’d say having kids. Just in the sense that when we were younger, we always got lectured about do’s and don’ts, why your parents wanted you to do things or not do things, and you could never understand why until you have kids of your own. And you realise where they were coming from. And it’s not as easy as it seems, it’s quite a hard task.
What’s your best advice to give to other people?
Live every day to the fullest. Life’s too short for enemies. Just love everyone and get along.
What role do your beliefs play in your life?
Being honest in your everyday living. Doing the right thing by customers or people in general. Helping people less fortunate than yourself. Giving away to the poor.
