When are you at your happiest?

When I have my prayer, that’s the most important thing for me. I’m so happy once my prayers are done.

What’s something that you are passionate about?

Helping people. That’s the most important thing to me. Anybody asks anything from me I’m always open hearted, I just go and help them.

What’s a significant achievement of yours?

Doing my Hajj [pilgrimage to Mecca], that was the biggest achievement for me. I did my Hajj two years ago and I’m happy if I just die like that!

What do you hope to achieve in 2016?

I would like to help a lot of people, especially in Fiji, that cyclone, I feel I’d like to go there and give them a hand. Fiji really needs us.

Who is your role model?

My hubby. He has shown me a lot of things in Islam which I didn’t know.

What is a memory you have of your children growing up?

There are so many happy moments with my children, especially my elder one. When I had him, he was a very naughty boy when he was growing up. He was three years old and he used to do his bicycle on top of a deck where there is no rails. And he just went on top of the deck and fell on the concrete and broke his front tooth. It wasn’t a laughing matter, unfortunately. He ended up in the hospital for removing his tooth. It was funny but it was sad too.

What would people be surprised to know about you?

Kindness, my kindness and generosity.

What’s something that has changed your life?

My brother passed away, which really did make a lot of changes. My parents used to live with him, and now he’s gone nobody is there to look after, so I brought them with me here, I’m looking after them, that is the biggest change in my life.

What’s your best advice to give to other people?

Help others, be generous. That’s it. Be kind to people.

Is there anything else you would like to say?

I would like to talk more about the religion where… I know a lot of people think Islam is the worst religion in this world. I disagree because from my point of view Islam is such a peaceful religion. People don’t understand. Some of them, I don’t know, what’s happening in this world for example… fights and all that, which we are against it, but our hands are tied, we can’t do anything. Plus I hope that all the Muslims try and believe whatever is written in our Quran, saying that this is a peaceful religion, show it to other people, stop fighting, don’t kill people, which is really bad for everyone in this world. That is the biggest advice I would give to all my Muslim people.
